Many industry experts have asked us - "Why do you make this in the USA? Metal work like this is much cheaper in Mexico or China"
We agree. We could save money by getting the parts made overseas or in Mexico (which is only 60 miles away), but we chose to keep production in Tucson and employ local people to make it. We could commission some factory in China to make everything for us, but then we would lose quality control on the steel and suffer from huge lead times on shipments. While the choice to make our products here in Tucson will ultimately cost us some profit, we feel that it is worth it in the long run. There are many benefits that are not counted directly on the bottom line, such as:
